Welcome to Waternet
Building capacity for water resources management in southern Africa

WaterNet is a regional network of university departments and research and training institutes specialising in water. The network aims to build regional institutional and human capacity in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) through training, education, research and outreach by harnessing the complementary strengths of member institutions in the region and elsewhere. WaterNet member institutions have expertise in various aspects of water resources management and are based in Southern and East Africa.

12th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA Symposium

In 1999 the first WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA Symposium was held in Maputo, Mozambique. After 12 years, history was repeated. The 12th Symposium was successfully held in Maputo under the leadership of Prof Dinis Juizo.

On behalf of the 12th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWP-SA Symposium Local Organising Committee, I would like to thank all the delegates who attended the conference. A special thank you goes to the special session conveners and all the honourable guests who officiated at this year’s conference. The conference was attended by over 300 delegates from Africa, America, Asia and Europe.

Submission of Papers for Publication in the next Symposium Special Issue of JPCE

For authors:

You can now contact the invited corresponding authors to ask that they register themselves within the system, they will need to visit http://ees.elsevier.com/jpce, and from the home page, they can click on 'Register' found in the menu at the top of the page. Once they provide their first name, last name and email address, the system will send out an email confirming their username/password. Once received, they will then be able to submit their article.

To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue you are editing, it is important that authors select 'Special issue: 12th WaterNet' when they reach the "Article Type" step in the submission process. Please make sure authors are given this instruction when you send out invitation letters and/or instructions to potential authors.

As the journal does not consider unsolicited manuscripts, authors will be asked to confirm the name of the Guest Editor that has invited them. If they respond with a name other than those associated with the 12th WaterNet, the submission will be returned to them and then removed from the system.

For further information please contact the Symposium Special Issue Guest Editor;
